Solitary Floral Totems

Years ago, a friend shared this thought about death: You do not bury the vase when the flowers die. That idea lingered with me after my grandmother’s death and funeral, and fabricating these pieces carried me through my grief. These are self-contained floral objects: bright, whimsical and independent, and named for the women in my lineage.
